The Biography Channel had an established and respected 20 year-old brand, closely associated with their popular Biography series. Their goal was to broaden their audience, and create an international brand that reflected their more dynamic and varied programming. They came to us to for a mnemonic that would have the flexibility to adapt to all their programming in each international market, as well as the domestic market, but would always be recognizable as “Bio.”
After extensive R&D, we delivered a mnemonic toolkit which is comprised of a four-note sequence layered with sound design. The layers can be added and subtracted to create different textures and feels, to customize the mnemonic to specific environments. And with the mnemonic established, we created several IDs which convey the attitude and fun of the new brand.
